Competition 2026

The Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition is a renowned international forum for presenting talented, aspiring young pianists, and furthering their artistic careers.

Conceived in the spirit of the legendary Arthur Rubinstein, since its inception in 1974 the Rubinstein Competition upholds high standards, and for more than 5 decades has been considered one of the top piano competitions in the world.

All stages of the Competition are performed in front of a live audience and are live-streamed worldwide. Competition stages consist of two recitals of almost free repertoire, a 35 - 40 minutes recital in stage I and a 40 – 50 minutes recital in stage II. The final stage consists of Chamber Music, a Classic Concerto with the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, and a Grand Concerto with The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Each of the six finalists performs all three concerts.

Throughout the years the Rubinstein Competition has fostered many pianists who went on to international acclaim: Emanuel Ax, Gerhard Oppitz, Angela Cheng, Alexander Korsantia, Kirill Gerstein, Alexander Gavrylyuk; Igor Levit, Khatia Buniatishvili, Boris Giltburg, Daniil Trifonov, Juan Pérez Floristán, Kevin Chen and others.
